Tim and his wife, Virginia Hilton has two (2) sons, Tim Jr. and Andre.

Selected by Montreal Expos in the fifth round June 7, 1977 played ? Montreal from 1979 – 1990. While with Montreal he hit 96 home runs and drove in 552 runs.

Raines was traded to the Chicago White Sox in 1991, played six (6) years then traded to the New York Yankees where he helped them win the World Series in 1996 and 1998. In 2001, Raines joined the Baltimore Orioles so he could play with his son Tim Raines, Jr. They were only the second father and son to play in the majors.

His records include: American League Career record for most consecutive stolen bases without being caught stealing_40 (July 23, 1993 thru August 4, 1995, Major league single-season record for most intentional bases on balls received by a switch hitter_26 (1987), Share A.L. single-game record for most consecutive times leached base safely_7 (April 29, 1994, 12 innings) also hit six (6) grand slams in his major league career. Hit for the cycle August 16, 1987, Switch-hit home runs in one game (July 16, 1988 and August 31, 1993). Life time, Raines has 2, 604 hits, 808 stolen bases and 1565 runs scored in his career. A seven time All-Star.after recovering from Lupus, Tim went to spring training with the N.Y. Yankees, but had to retire from Baseball.

Jeter was born in Pequannock, N.J. The family move to Kalamazoo Michigan. As a young player he dreamed of playing for the New York Yankees.. That dream came true in 1995. While at Kalamazoo Central High School, he hit .557 with 7 home runs as a junior. As a senior, he hit .508 with 23 RBI and 4 home runs. jeter was named high scool player of the year in 1992. His career with the Yankees has been super. As a Yankee short stop, he took it to a higer level, his dazzling plays at short always made the hi-lite reel. Since joining the Yankees, he has help them win five(5) world series in his first six full seasons. He was Rookie of the year in 1996.

Frazier "Slow " Robinson was born on May 30, 1910 in Birmingham Alabama. His father was a very strict man and did not approve of slow and his brother Norman playing baseball. Their father was a Protestant Minister, he thought the boys would follow in his footsteps. From his youth,Frazier was attracted to baseball. Robinson played the bulk of his career with the Kansas City Monarchs and the Baltimore Elite Giants. Slow Robinson was a catcher with the Monarchs, the same team as Satchel Paige. Slow was a religious man, he love to sing negro spirituals. With the Monarchs he organized a quartet with Satchel Paige, John Markham and I.V. Barnes. Frazier wanted to be a baseball catcher, even though catching is probably the least glamorous position on a team .. But, he knew that being a catcher he would be involved in every phase of the game, like positioning the players and most catchers were captains. He caught hall of fame pitcher Satttchel Paige and played with many other legendary black players. Slow Frazier died in 1997.

Many black's were great in those days, in most cases better than white players, only the color of there skin kept them from playing on other teams. Some white teams had at least one black player. Bud Fowler played on a white team, he played first base - second base and also catcher. He was credited with inventing the first shin guards.
Back in the early days of baseball , the Negro League played shadow ball before each game to get the crowd going.

The first Professional Black Team was the Cuban Giants. They were the colored champions in 1889 and 1888.

Satchel Paige after two decades in the Negro League, signed with the Cleveland Indians in 1948. At age 42, this rookie helped his team win the American League Pennant.

Jackie Robinson broke into baseball in 1947 with the Brooklyn Dodgers. Two years later he hit 342, leading the league, drove in 124 runs and won MVP in the National League.

Josh Gibson hit more than 900 in his career, 84 in one season. In 1931 while playing for the Homestead Gray, Gibson hit seventy-five (75) homers. Many think that Gibson was the greatest hitter in baseball. Gibson is the only player to hit a ball out of what stadium.
